Make a Difference Conference 2017

 

Youth in Action members held the 22nd annual Make a Difference Conference on February 13th, 2017 at Fortune Bay Resort. Over 300 teens from Hibbing, Chisholm, Cherry, Duluth Denfeld, Duluth East, Ely, Eveleth/Gilbert, Mesabi East, Northwoods, South Ridge, Northeast Range, Mountain Iron/Buhl and Virginia High Schools attended the conference.

2017 Service Learning Trip by Abby Thompson

"The part I liked most was packing up rice meals for starving people in Haiti. There were a few other groups of volunteers there as well, and together we packed over 29,000 meals! What a great thing to do that takes just a fraction of your time."  Abby Thompson is from Chisholm High School.

Learning Day at the Capitol

Learning Day at the Capitol

On April 12, 2016, 32 students from six area schools including Virginia, Mountain Iron/Buhl, Mesabi East, Ely, Cherry and Hibbing travelled to the State Capitol to meet with politicians including Governor Mark Dayton, Representatives Jason Metsa and Rob Eklund, and Senator Tom Bakk.
