Description:

In 2018 the University of Minnesota released a study finding that drinking water throughout the Great Lakes is polluted with high levels of microplastics. Microplastics are caused by the breakdown of larger plastic pieces from the sun, wind or water into small fragments less than five millimeters in size.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019 the Lake Superior Zoo will team up with families in Duluth, MN to help keep microplastics out of our waterways during an event called Party for the Planet: Spring Into Action:
